We get acquainted
We begin gently, talk with you and give your child time to explore the room. If they need extra reassurance, a parent can stay close for as long as necessary.
First appointment
The first appointment is not an exam, and your child does not need to rehearse anything. Through play and conversation, we get to know your child, observe how they communicate and help them feel safe in the space.
The process follows your child’s age, needs and pace. Our aim is to form a helpful first picture without placing them under pressure.
We begin gently, talk with you and give your child time to explore the room. If they need extra reassurance, a parent can stay close for as long as necessary.
The therapist follows your child’s initiative and observes communication, understanding and expression through natural, age-appropriate activities.
At the end, we share our first observations. We may suggest simple ideas for home, further assessment or support—only when it is genuinely needed.
We never force the situation. We give your child time and, when helpful, invite you to join them for a while. Feeling safe matters more than following a rigid schedule.
Keep your explanation simple, positive and honest. There is no need to mention a “test”, an “exam” or anything they must do correctly.
Shortly before leaving, simply say that you are going to a welcoming place to play and meet someone new.
Explain that they will meet someone with toys, pictures and stories, and reassure them that you will remain nearby.
Be honest: they will meet a specialist who helps children make communication, words and speech feel easier.
Come as you are. We will listen to your questions and guide you clearly, without rushing to conclusions.
